Ahmet Yesil (1954 - )

Ahmet Yeşil was born in Mersin in 1954. Born and raised in Mersin and living there, Yeşil received painting education from painters Nuri Abaç, İlhan Çevik and Ernür Tüzün between 1973 and 1985. 

Between 1980 and 1989, which we can define as Yeşil's "Figure Period", the artist dealt with women and children in his works with social and social content. Between 1990 and 1997, the image of rope and rope, which he subconsciously created with the influence of his mother being a tailor and his passion for the sea, takes place in the artist's paintings as an important detail. In his early years, the artist used rope as a symbol expressing a narrative-based object, but in the following years he shaped his art based on rope and rope.

The artist expresses every dimension of social, social, political, economic, economic, ecological and personal life through the objective structure of the rope. The artist, whose works are included in many private collections in Turkey, also has works in important foreign collections, especially in Germany, America, Canada, the Netherlands and England. The artist, who has received 24 awards in national and international competitions, lives and works in Mersin.
